Offinso MCE gets 97.67% endorsement

Assembly Members of the Offinso Municipal Assembly have overwhelmingly confirmed the President’s nominee Hon. Kingsley Owusu Appiah for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position

He secured 42 out of the 43 total votes cast representing 97.67% in an exercise supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission.

Mr Kingsley Owusu Appiah in his acceptance speech, thanked the President, the Asante Regional Minister, Nananom and the Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him to see to the growth and wellbeing of the Offinso Municipality and pledge his commitment to the development of the area.

The Asante Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei Mensah expressed his gratitude to the Assembly members for confirming the President’s nominee and urged the MCE to put the necessary actions in place to advance the development of the municipality.

He then thanked the Member of Parliament for the area Dr Isaac Yaw Opoku, and called on him, the Assembly Members and the Staff of the Assembly to cooperate with the MCE for effective work ’’ the Assembly business is part of the local government structure and as much as possible we have to do it devoid of politics ”He said.

He added that the task ahead is not the sole responsibility of the MCE but an all-inclusive responsibility.
