Community Entry and Sensitization Program at Aboasu for Boosting GrEEn Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Offinso Municipality

Community Entry and Sensitization Program at Aboasu for Boosting GrEEn Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Offinso Municipality

The Offinso Municipality recently hosted a two-day Community Entry and Sensitization Program as part of the implementation of the 3rd cycle activities under the Boosting GrEEn Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Ghana (GrEEn) project. The event took place in the vibrant community of Aboasu, gathering key stakeholders and community members to foster understanding and collaboration towards the successful onboarding of GrEEn cash-for-work beneficiaries.

The primary objective of the program was to sensitize the community about the upcoming activities related to the GrEEn project, with a particular focus on the involvement of local stakeholders. The engagement aimed to promote community participation and ownership, ensuring the effective implementation of the project’s initiatives within the municipality.

During the program, several important activities were conducted to facilitate the project’s progress. This included the selection of community facilitators and timekeepers, who will play crucial roles in coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the GrEEn activities in Aboasu. The selected individuals underwent comprehensive training on their responsibilities and roles, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively support the beneficiaries.

Furthermore, the event also involved the application training for registration of cash-for-work beneficiaries. This training session enlightened potential beneficiaries on the application process and requirements to register for the GrEEn cash-for-work program. By empowering individuals to participate in the project, the program aims to provide employment opportunities and enhance entrepreneurial prospects within the community.

Additionally, the program facilitated the establishment of a data collection team. This team will support the registration of about 300 persons from 18 to 65 years who are interested in the cash for work component under the GrEEn project in the Offinso municipality. Their work will contribute to evaluating the qualifications of registered applicants thus informing future decision-making processes particularly in the lottery selection and interview processes.

The Community Entry and Sensitization Program served as a significant step towards commencing the 3rd cycle objectives of the GrEEn project at Aboasu in the Offinso municipality. By engaging local stakeholders, facilitating application processes, and establishing support structures, the program aims to foster sustainable development and economic growth in the community.

The Offinso Municipal Assembly is committed to transparent communication and active engagement with its constituents. We encourage community members, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to stay updated on the project’s progress and future events through our website and official communication channels.

Together, we can create a greener, more prosperous future for the Offinso municipality.
