ATTENDANCE

The program started a little behind the scheduled time of 9:00am due to the late arrival of the representative of Offinso Hene, Abofour Chief and Sub Chiefs but that did not hinder the attendance in any way because when they finally started trooping in, the attendance by the time the program started was marvelous. The program was well attended. About 600 people attended.

In attendance were very prominent dignitaries including the Municipal Chief Executive, the Municipal Coordinating Director and his deputies, the Municipal Director of Agriculture, representative of Offinso Hene, Abofour Chief and sub Chiefs, Heads of various departments and agencies, Past Award Winners and the Assembly members.

The MADU in collaboration with the Planning department under the auspices of the Municipal Health directorate and the AIDS Commission organized and mounted an over patronized stand to conduct voluntary counselling and testing for HIV, Hepatitis B and Malaria to commemorate World AIDS day which coincided with the farmers’ day celebration.

The competition was fierce, and keenly contested. In the end, Mr. Kwadwo Kusi of Kyebi was adjured the overall Municipal Best Farmer.

CONCLUSION

As already mentioned, though the program started a little later than scheduled, it recorded one of the best attendances at a farmers’ day celebration and by the close of the program, the Offinso Municipal celebration of the 40th National Farmers’ Day was a showpiece, all thanks to our Assembly and corporate sponsors.

To all who helped to make it a success, we salute you and we say well done. To all our gallant farmers, we say AYEKOOO!
