Offinso Municipal Assembly Inaugurates District Road Improvement Programme
On Tuesday, 3rd September 2024, the Offinso Municipal Assembly held a grand inauguration ceremony for the District Road Improvement Programme. The event, attended by key dignitaries and community members, marked a significant milestone in the Assembly’s commitment to improving road infrastructure within the municipality.
The occasion was graced by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kingsley Owusu Appiah, the Omanhene of Offinso Traditional Council, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, the Clergy, Representatives of Political Parties, Heads of Departments, and the general public. The highlight of the event was the official presentation of road construction equipment acquired from the Central Government to support the Assembly’s efforts in upgrading local roads.
The fleet of equipment unveiled included:
• Liugong Wheel Loader
• Liugong Backhoe
• Liugong Motor Grader
• Two (2) Shacman Tipper Trucks
• Shacman Tipper Bowser
• Three (3) Concrete Mixers
• Liugong Roller
• Ten (10) Wheelbarrows
• Twenty (20) Empty Barrels
In his address, Hon. Kingsley Owusu Appiah expressed gratitude to the government for the support, emphasizing that the equipment would enhance road maintenance, ease transportation, and boost economic activities in the municipality. He urged the Assembly’s technical team to ensure proper maintenance and effective use of the machinery for long-term benefits.
Nana Dwamena Akenten II, Omanhene of Offinso, commended the initiative and highlighted the importance of well-maintained roads in facilitating trade, education, and healthcare access. He also encouraged communities to support the Assembly’s development efforts.
The event concluded with a demonstration of the equipment’s capabilities, showcasing the Assembly’s readiness to commence road improvement projects. The Offinso Municipal Assembly remains committed to enhancing road infrastructure to promote development and improve the livelihoods of residents.
