REPORT ON FIRST QUARTER CLEAN-UP EXERCISES ORGANISED – 2025

1. INTRODUCTION

As part of measures aimed at maintaining a clean and safe environment, the Offinso Municipal Assembly in collaboration with Assembly Members, Chiefs, Opinion leaders and Zoomlion organized clean-up exercises in various communities in the Municipal. The table below indicates the dates and communities involved in the exercises during the year of 2025:

1.0 CHALLENGES

Some challenges encountered during the clean-up exercises included reluctance of community members to come out of their houses to join in the exercises and also some community members littering the environment after clean-ups. Another disturbing challenge is people throwing refuse into drains especially during rainfall. The Environmental Health Unit however, continued to educate community members on the implications of such acts and the legal actions that could be taken against such culprits.    

2.0 CONCLUSION

             The exercises were however successful despite the few challenges stated above.
