This report covers sensitization program on teenage pregnancy and other child protection issues for the fourth quarter 2023. During the quarter under review a team of eight (8) staffs visited 10 schools each sensitization school children on teenage pregnancy and other child protection issues like drugs abuse, bully, stealing, etc.

School children were sensitizes on issues that can be a standing block as far as education is concerned, the team hammed on teenage pregnancy. With the uses of adolescent protection flash cards, spoon full of life etc. school children were made to understand that watching of pornographic movies, stealing, smoking, peer group influence, excessive uses of mobile phone etc. can have negative effect on their education.

 Again school girls were sensitizes on teenage pregnancy as one key result of school dropout and can be a standing block in their future carrier. The team took the school pupils through the meaning of teenage pregnancy, causes, effects and measure to prevention of it.

The education addresses the alarming rate of teenage pregnancy and school children were made to understand that teenage pregnancy is a shared responsibility for parents, adolescents, and community at large. It occurs when a teenage girl get pregnant. These girls who are in their school going age may lose their education, become school dropout, which eventual leads to burden to the community and its health implication during and after during which can leads to loss of life. Communities lose a lot if a teenage had pregnancy in the sense that these girls who in near future become nurses, teachers, polices, soldiers, etc loss these future as a result of pregnancy.

The municipal directorate harmed that Abstaining from premature sex is the best measure but in situation where the teenage girls cannot copy as a result of peer pressure, parents should assist the girls to consider going to health facilities for the uses of family planning measures. The resource person took communities members to different types of family planning.

The department emphases on the formation of community bid – laws and community volunteerism in the night to help control children who roam in the night and during wake keeping.

Punishment should be given to adult males who normally impregnating these teenage girls, some women on the view that some parents are wicked on taking proper care of their children, others said some parents exchange their children for material thing, other also said parents should question their girls if they come home with things like phones, money and other material things, etc.
